Former President Donald Trump is increasing the probability of a 2024 win as multiple “major Republican donors” pledge to support him despite withdrawing their support after Jan. 6, 2021.

The Washington Examiner reported that just two months before the first GOP primary, several prominent donors have circled back to stand with Trump.

Oil mogul Harold Hamm and Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus are just two billionaires who, longing for the economic forecasts associated with Trump’s first term, have repledged their support for the former president.

Hamm was a Ron DeSantis Supporter and Marcus had supported Nikki Haley — but Trump’s commanding lead in the run-up to the primaries prompted the wealthy donors to back the projected winner.

“When I looked there [at the other candidates], it was only a training session for the people that’s on that platform right now,” Republican donor Don Tapia, a former U.S. ambassador to Jamaica, told ABC News.

Charlie Kolean, a GOP strategist who raises money for Trump, told ABC News: “While Trump may have not been some Republicans’ first choice for 2024, many are coming back on board because the risk of Joe Biden being a two-term president is just too high.”

Kolean added: “[Trump’s] lead in the polls is unparalleled, and barring any legal action, there is nothing politically that could stop him from becoming the nominee.”

In his recent op-ed in RealClear Politics, Marcus wrote:

“I understand the frustration of some of my Republican friends who do not like or are offended by things Donald Trump does and says. I, too, have been frustrated at times, but we cannot let his brash style be the reason we walk away from his otherwise excellent stewardship of the United States during his first term in office.”
