568 Trader Joe’s grocery stores in the United States are pulling approximately 61,000 pounds of chicken dumplings from their shelves.

The Associated Press reported the popular winter season dish, steamed chicken soup dumplings, was recalled as it may contain plastic.

Store executives announced the recall last Saturday.

Though no reports of  illness have been reported, a spokesperson for the retail store said: “We are recalling Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings (SKU# 54988) with the best by date 03.07.25 and lot code C1-1 or C1-2 due to the potential presence of foreign material (plastic).”

The statement emphasized, “No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.”

Customers who recently purchased steamed chicken soup dumplings are encouraged to discard the product or bring cans to a local store for a full refund. The company statement read: “If you purchased Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings with the best by date 03.07.25 and lot code C1-1 or C1-2, please discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.”

The steamed chicken soup dumpling recall follows the recall of Almond Windmill Cookies last July, following reports that the product packaged between Oct. 17, 2023, and Oct. 21, 2023, “may contain rocks,” and a salad product recall last month.
