Trump To Visit Border On Same Day As Biden, Blast His Handling Of Illegal Immigration Crisis

In what some are calling dueling border visits, President Joe Biden and former President (and presumptive GOP presidential nominee) Donald Trump will visit the southern border on Thursday.

The visits follow government reports that a record number of migrants have crossed southern and northern borders since President Biden took office.

Also in the news this last week is the horrific story of an illegal immigrant, twice released after committing crimes in America due to soft-on-crime and pro-immigration policies, murdered a nursing student when she was jogging.

Trump places the blame for the young lady, Laken Riley, 22, on Biden’s immigration policies.

Biden will visit Brownsville, Texas and meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents—many of whom have been critical of DHSH policies that compromise their ability to secure the border.

Notably, President Biden’s recent stop in East Palestine, Ohio was met with boos, expletives, and a sea of pro-Trump banners.

Trump will visit Eagle Pass, ground zero for an overwhelming number of illegal immigrants pouring into Texas, and the site of a legal showdown between Gov. Abbot and Texas state leaders and federal officials.

Biden administration officials have taken legal action to stop Texas officials from establishing border crossing deterrents. The U.S. Supreme Court handed administration officials a partial win—allowing federal officials to remove barriers (such as razer wire) but also allowing Texas officials to establish deterrents.

26 State governors have pledged support to Texas—several have offered to send national guard troops and razer wire as necessary. The Biden administration has vowed to force Texas to comply and remove deterrents but has yet to do so.

Many believe the optics of such a move would be disastrous for the Democrats just months away from a major election cycle.

White House officials noted that during Thursday’s visit, President Biden is expected to “reiterate his calls for Congressional Republicans to stop playing politics and to provide the funding needed for additional U.S. Border Patrol agents, more asylum officers, fentanyl detection technology and more.”

Many Republican officials argue the President does not need additional funding or congressional approval to impose measures that will stem the tide of illegal immigration.

Further, many Republicans charge that President Biden has strategically moved to create the border crisis. The White House denies the charge and place the blame on Republicans:

Thursday’s visit will mark Biden’s second trip to the border.

Political analysts note that immigration-related issues will the top concern of voters in the November 2024 election.
