Tucker Carlson Gives One Reason Why He’d Oppose Trump’s Reelection

Former top-rated Fox News host Tucker Carlson is a known supporter of former President Donald Trump.

The notable podcaster has been lauded for his extended counter-programming interview with Trump during the first GOP presidential debate and is reportedly former First Lady Melania Trump’s pick for VP.

On Monday, Carlson surprised many by stating there is one thing Trump could do to ensure he would not vote for him — select former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley as his running mate.

Carlson shared his comments during an interview at AmericaFest with conservative host Tim Pool; James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas; and Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA.

When Pool asked Tucker if he would vote for Trump if he chose Haley to serve as his vice president, Carlson said: “I would not only not vote for that ticket, I would advocate against it as strongly as I could.”

Carlson added: “That’s just poison. I mean, here’s someone who’s actively opposed to the interests of the country I grew up in, who endorsed the BLM riots, and who is not left, but is neoliberal in the darkest, most — speaking of nihilist — nihilistic way, and has no real popular support, is a creature of the oligarchs.”

Though Haley is polling slightly behind DeSantis in national surveys, she is rising in the polls and has recently secured multiple endorsements, including Iowa’s governor and the multibillion-dollar Koch- brothers Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP) group.

GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who trails Haley, has referred to her as a “RINO” who “loves foreign wars,” according to a report in the Daily Caller.

Doubling down on his comment, Carlson said later in the interview, “So yeah, that would be — that would be a reason to oppose the ticket.”

Previously, when pressed on whether he would be interested in serving as vice president under Trump, Carlson said, “God would have to yell at me very loud” to accept the position.

After leaving Fox, Tucker established a “Tucker on Twitter” show on what is now X. Recognizing the need for a name change, Tucker recently launched a new media company, the “Tucker Carlson Network.”

The conservative host stated he would address many sensitive but important issues, such as media bias, COVID, vaccine mandates and Black Lives Matter.
