Watch: Haley Asks Young Girl Where She Got Her ‘Nikki for President’ Hat. Girl’s Response Draws Laughter From Crowd.

While the former lead second-tier GOP candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sinks in polling, former ambassador Nikki Haley is rising.

Though both candidates trail front-runner Donald Trump, Haley has drawn attention by securing new donors, particularly following the suspension of Tim Scott’s campaign, and her notable comments.

On Monday, a crowd at a New Hampshire GOP political event erupted in laughter after Haley inadvertently drew attention to a young girl who was wearing “pro-Haley for president” apparel,

Rather than being a die-hard Haley fan, the girl admitted that what she was wearing was given to her by Haley’s campaign staff.

During the event, Haley called out to the girl in the audience: “I love your [Nikki for President] hat.”

The young girl replied: “Thank you,” she said. “One of your guys gave it to me for free.”

The audience responded in laughter to the innocent reveal, which some took to mean that few were interested in paying for Haley-branded merchandise and so staff were forced to give items away for free.

USA Today reported that a recent Washington Post/Monmouth University poll showed former President Donald Trump polling at 46%, Haley in second place at 18%, New. Jersey Gov, Chris Christie at 11%, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy at 8% and DeSantis at 7%.

Though trailing Trump in the GOP primary, Haley is shown by some polls to be doing better than Trump in a head-to-head matchup against Biden.

The Daily Caller reported that both Haley and DeSantis are doing well in fundraising; both candidates brought in more than $1 million within 24 hours of the third GOP debate.
